social walks for reactive dogs

A dog training walk with 4 dogs, their owners and a certified dog trainer.

What are social walks?
Social walks are a great way for reactive dogs to work on their social skills and to learn how to communicate with other dog’s without using aggressive, over excited, or fearful behaviour.

Who is it for?

Social walks are for reactive dogs, dogs that bark and lunge at other dogs, dogs that do not come in contact with a lot of dogs, dogs that are fearful of other dogs, dogs that are over excited when seeing another dog, dog owners that want to practice with a certified dog trainer.

You will learn:

  • to observe your dog

  • to read your dog’s body language.

  • how to prevent your dog from using reactive behaviour

  • how to communicate with your dog using calm energy

  • how to help your dog when encountering triggers

  • exercises to calm your dog and help them to cope with the situation

Important:

Dogs that have a bite history can only join the walk when using a muzzle.

You are responsible for your dog’s behaviour during this walk and participation is at your own risk.

All dogs are on lead and stay on lead during the walk.
They do not have to meet the other dogs.

The goal of the social walk is to create positive associations with other dogs which only happens when your dog feels safe and comfortable.
